  • I have found that songs express so much more of what I'm feeling than I can say. Here is one of my favorites by Phillips, Craig and Dean:

    Your Grace Still Amazes Me

    My faithful Father, enduring Friend
Your tender mercy’s like a river with no end
It overwhelms me, covers my sin
Each time I come into Your presence
I stand in wonder once again

    CHORUS:
    Your grace still amazes me
Your love is still a mystery
Each day I fall on my knees
    Your grace still amazes me
‘Cause Your grace still amazes me

Oh, patient Saviour, You make me whole
You are the Author and the Healer of my soul
What can I give You, Lord, what can I say
I know there’s no way to repay You
Only to offer You my praise

    It’s deeper, it’s wider
    It’s stronger, it’s higher
    It’s deeper it’s wider
    It’s stronger, it’s higher
than anything my eyes can see

I have no idea where I would be without God's grace and love. He is always there patiently waiting for me as I go off trying to do things on my own. He is there waiting for me to return to his open loving arms. God is so amazingly awesome in every way. He deserves all our praise and all of us.

God of Glory, God of Might
King of Heaven, Lord of Light
Though my ways are less than wise
    I come to praise You

    Jesus, Master, Savior, Friend
Your mercy seems to have no end
And though all I have to bring is sin
    I come to praise You

And my righteousness, is as filthy rags
But You exchange them for the good things that You have

    Chorus:
    Lord I want to sing...
I wanna sing you a song, I wanna lift up my voice
As I raise my hands, Lord I make my choice
That from this moment on until the end of my days
I want to offer up my life as a sacrifice of praise,
    As a sacrifice of praise

  • Turn your eyes upon Jesus...

    Turn your eyes upon Jesus
Look full in His wonderful face
    And the things of earth
    Will grow strangely dim
In the light of His glory and grace
    ******

Too often I take my eyes off of God and place them on myself and the storms in my life. When I do this everything is way more complicated. I become more emotional, and I feel very lost and tossed about. But as soon as I take my focus off of myself and put it back on God, everything just clears. I have a footing again. I have a strength that I wasn't aware of before. I know that strength is God.

    ******
May the words of my mouth and the thoughts of my heart

Bless Your name, bless Your name, Jesus
And the deeds of the day and the truth in my ways
Speak of You, speak of You, Jesus
For this is what I'm glad to do
It's time to live a life of love that pleases You
And I will give my all to You
Surrender everything I have and follow You
    I'll follow You
Lord, will You be my vision, Lord, will You be my guide
Be my hope, be my light and the way
And I'll look not for riches, nor praises on earth
Only You'll be the first of my heart
    I will follow
    I will follow
    I will follow You

  • Rick Warren Article

I found this article by Rick Warren, and really wanted to share it. It really makes you stop and think twice...

"Jesus said to his followers, 'Go everywhere in the world, and tell the Good News to everyone'" (Mark 16:15 NCV).

A lot of people are on overload and headed for a crash. Consider these statistics among U.S. citizens:

    • People now sleep 2 1/2 fewer hours each night compared to people from one hundred years ago.

    • The average work week is longer now than it was in the 1960s.

    • The average office worker has 36 hours of work piled up on his or her desk. It takes three hours a week just to sort through it and find what we need.

    • We spend eight months of our lives opening junk mail, two years of our lives playing phone tag with people who are too busy to answer, and five years waiting for people who are trying to do too much and are late for meetings.

We're a piled-on, stretched-to-the limit society; chronically rushed, chronically late, chronically exhausted. Many of us feel like Job did when he said, "I have no peace! I have no quiet! I have no rest! And trouble keeps coming" (Job 3:26 GWT).

Overload comes when we have too much activity in our lives, too much change, too many choices, too much work, too much debt, too much media exposure.

Dr. Richard Swenson says, "The conditions of modern day living devour margin. If you're homeless we direct you to a shelter. If you're penniless we offer you food stamps. If you're breathless we connect you to oxygen. But if you're marginless we give you one more thing to do. Marginless is being thirty minutes late to the doctor's office because you were twenty minutes late getting out of the hairdresser because you were ten minutes late dropping the children off at school because the car ran out of gas two blocks from a gas station and you forgot your purse. That's marginless."

You need margin in your life. When you're not hurrying and worrying all the time, you have time to think. Time to relax. Time to enjoy life. Time to be still and know that God is God (Psalm 46:10).

  • I Believe...

I was inspired by Christina to write this blog... And by the way its ok if you don't agree with me.

    I believe...

I believe that a smile can warm a heart

I believe that the best things in life are free

I believe that there is something magical about the summer time

I believe that sunsets will always take my breath away

    I believe in taking risks

I believe that life should be a little nuts because otherwise its pretty much a bunch of Thursdays strung together

I believe we should learn from our mistakes, be accountible for them and most importantly grow wiser from them instead of blaming circumstances, people and other things for them

I believe that a walk in the woods, through the mountains or along the beach will do wonders for your attitude

I belive that being thankful makes you more content with your life

I believe that laughter is contagious

I believe that dreams can come true

    I believe in working hard

I believe people settle for whats at hand instead of striving for what they really want because its more convinent for them

I believe you need to find something to be passionate about, something that you love

I believe that everyone needs to be hugged at least once a day if not more

I believe you should take the time to stop and smell the roses

I believe change is a good thing

I believe you should pull an all-nighter with friends once in a while

I believe that everything happens for a reason

I believe my house doesn't feel much like home until my dog runs to greet me

I believe that happiness is a choice
